Plan to bring new business to Buncrana being finalised

A Marketing strategy to attract new business to land and buildings in Buncrana, acquired by the Council from the IDA, is being finalised.
However concern is being expressed locally that the deal between Donegal County Council and IDA still favours Letterkenny.
Last year the IDA handed over a number of sections of land and buildings across Donegal to the council in return for favourable development charges for IDA backed businesses in Letterkenny.
This was part of the IDA’s new strategy to focus on job creation in gateway towns primarily.
This week DCC’s Michael McGarvey outlined progress on the Lisfannon site to Buncrana County Councillors – he assured them that the council will help support and nurture new businesses wishing to locate there:
