Jobs boost for Kilcar as 10 new jobs are confirmed at local company

10 news jobs were officially confirmed at Kilcar Textile Company today.
Making the announcement Minister of State at the Department for the Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Dinny McGinley praised the company in its development of new products and new markets.
Trading as Donegal Yarns the company operates a complete production process from raw wool to a finished multicoloured fleck yarn targeted at the weaving, knitting and craft industry.
Over 65% of their total production is exported to the EU, United States and Japan. Their yarn features in high-end fashion garments produced by American fashion giants such as Ralph Lauren, Polo and J. Crew.
Reacting to the news that the current work force is to grow from 21 to 31, Minister Dinny McGinley praised the company for performing so well in the highly competitive textile market, particularly in these difficult economic times.
Today’s jobs announcement is supported by Údarás na Gaeltachta, in total 2007 people are employed throughout Donegal in Údarás client companies.
