D-day for Councillor threatening to quit Fianna Fail

A Donegal County Councillor who says he is considering quiting Fianna Fail over its handling of the Presidential Election, is due to confirm his decision today.
On Friday, Councillor Brenden Byrne told Highland Radio News that he is disillusioned with Michael Martin’s decision not to run a Fianna Fail candidate in the presidential election.
He spent the weekend consulting with his suppporters.
The Deputy Leader of the Fianna Fail Party Eamon O Cuiv, has appealed to Councillor Byrne, not to resign from the party saying he is important to the future of Fianna Fail
