26-year-old Omagh man remanded in custody on attempted murder charge

A 26 year old Omagh man has been remanded in custody at a special court in the town on a charge of attempted murder.
Mark McGlone of Castleview Pk, Omagh, was charged with attempting to murder Noel Knox in the Cellar Bar, Bridge St, Omagh, in the early hours of Friday morning.
The court heard that Mr Knox was stabbed with a broken glass.
A detective gave evidence the injured party had required 16 stitches to his throat and 14 to his face.
She said McGlone later told police: “I don’t know what happened. I just flipped and lost it.”
McGlone did not speak except to confirm he understood the charge.
