Raphoe priest says Donegal parishes face radical changes in the future

A priest in Donegal is predicting that lay people will have to become more and more involved in the running of parishes.
Raphoe Communications Officer Fr Paddy Dunne says a number of parishes in the diocese do not have a full time priest, and while there is no crisis in the short term, radical changes in how parishes are organised are inevitable in the long term.
Fr Dunne says says he expects Raphoe will begin a process of getting more lay and married deacons involved in parishes, and ultimately, parishoners themselves will be much more involved in how their parishes are run…………
