Cope sends EU parliament’s condolences to people of Norway

Police in Norway have confirmed that the 32 year old man being questioned in connection with two attacks yesterday is an extreme right wing Christian Fundamentalist.
He has been named locally as Ander Beh-ring Bre-vik.
The death toll has now risen to 91 and the number is expected to increase.
A bomb was detonated in Oslo yesterday afternoon – killing 7 people.
Around an hour later a gunman opened fire on a holiday island, where a Norwegian Labour Party youth camp was taking place, killing at least 84 people.
The gunman had taken a ferry from the mainland to the island posing as a police officer.
North West MEP Pat The Cope Gallagher is Chairperson of the European Parliament delegation that oversees political relations with Norway.
This morning, he contacted the Norwegian delegation Chair Ine Erikson Soreide, to pass on the condolences of the parliament.
He says she and her colleagues are devastated…….
