Five Romanian women appear in Court charged with running brothel in Letterkenny

Five Romanian women appeared at Letterkenny District Court yesterday charged with keeping a brothel in the centre of the town.
The five women, aged between 20 and 38, pleaded guilty to the charges.
The house at 1A Binnion Avenue in Letterkenny had been put under surveillance for a short period of time, and Detective Garda John Murphy observed male clients coming and going from the premises.
The house was then searched under warrant.
Gardai discovered a number of women and also recovered 680 euro and 1370 pounds in cash.
The five women appeared before Letterkenny District Court yesterday charged with running a brothel, they all pleaded guilty.
Judge Paul Kelly ordered that the women all make donations to two charities – The Donegal Rape Crisis Centre and Crumlin Childrens Hospital.
The money seized in the house was also divided between the two charities.
