Letterkenny Council moves to improve safety at Windyhall junction

Letterkenny Town Council has approved a €10,000 plan to increase safety at the Windyhall Junction, with a view towards a more comprehensive project in the near future.
Engineers were asked to present options for the junction. Four were identified, with the two preferred options outlined to members last evening.
The easier, Option 4, would involve relining and realignment of the junction, along with some hedge cutting and road resurfacing. The other, Option 3, would involve closing off the existing junction and merging the Windyhall Road with the new road to the side of Pramerica.
County Council Engineer Michael Mc Fadden says that option would also link with plans to extend that new road up to Glencar………….
