KFO says Donegal’s fishing industry will be wiped out without EU intervention

The KFO says the pelagic fleet in Donegal will be wiped out if the EU does not take action to stop the over fishing of Mackerel.
The Killybegs Fishermen’s Organisation says that the Faroes and Iceland are plundering stocks and if allowed continue, the main stay of the Irish fishing industry will be wiped out.
Mackerel makes up 80% of Ireland’s EU fishing rites.
The two countries are not governed by EU rules with the KFO calling on the European Union to impose sanctions to address the issue before fishermen take matters in to the own hands.
