Soccer – Healy says Harps deserved more in Longford

Finn Harps suffered their 11th league defeat of the season on Saturday afternoon losing to Longford Town at Flancare Park 3 -2. In near perfect conditions Harps got off to the perfect start. After only three minutes Keith Cowan had the ball in the hosts net. Mark Forker whipped in an excellent cross from the right in the first attack that Cowan rose highest to meet giving Paul Hunt no chance. By the 76th minute the game was locked at 2-2. With Longford edging in front 2-1 Kevin Mc Hugh would square up the match for Harps. When the ball broke to the forward 30yards out McHugh shot first time into the top corner leaving the Longford keeper in disbelief . Despite the excellence of McHugh’s finish, Longford soon had the lead for the second and final time. Mark Salmon scoring his hat trick and all of Longford’s goals to wrap up yet another win over the Donegal club at Flancare Park.
