Karen McGlinchey settles High Court action

Letterkenny woman, Karen McGlinchey, has settled her High Court action over alleged assault by a former detective garda who was involved in the Morris Tribunal.
Karen McGlinchey, whose sister Adrienne was a witness before the Morris Tribunal into corruption among gardai in Donegal, had sued Det Garda Noel McMahon, another key tribunal witness, the Garda Commissioner and the State arising from the alleged assault in 1999.
The proceedings were listed for hearing on Firday,  but Mr Justice Eamon de Valera was told the case was settled against the Garda Commissioner and the State and was previously discontinued against Det McMahon.
No details of the settlement were disclosed.
