An investigation is ongoing into an overnight house fire in Downing which claimed the life of a man in his 90’s.
He has been named locally as Neil McClafferty
A passerby spotting smoke and flames coming from the building at 1.40 am and called the emergency services. Fire units from Milford, Falcarragh and the voluntary unit from Carrigart attended the scene.
It is understood Mr McClafferty lived alone in the house.
