Study finds binge drinking will lead to rise in alcohol related illness

Heavy drinkers in the North-West are in danger of developing a condition known as Alcohol Related Brian Injury (ARBI), according to a ground-breaking study which has just been published.
It is understood that ARBI – known as “the invisible condition” –  is under-diagnosed, and the number of ARBI sufferers is expected to increase as a result of population trends and changing patterns of alcohol consumption.
The study was carried out by the North West Alcohol Forum in an effort to raise public awareness on the hidden implications of the damage excessive alcohol use can have on the brain.
Director of the Northwest Alcohol forum, Eamon O Kane, says the rise of binge drinking, will see an increase of ARBI in the future…….
