Speculation mounts that Udaras will lose job creation role

Speculation is mounting that Údarás na Gaeltachta will lose its job creation role.

It's believed that Junior Minister Dinny Mc Ginley will make the announcement at a meeting with board in Gweedore tomorrow morning.

He's expected to announce that the job creation function will be taken over by Enterprise Ireland, and the board's name will be changed to Udaras na Gaeilge agus na Gaeltachta. It will retain responsibility for the development and promotion of the Irish language, and language-related enterprise.

Burtonport based Cllr David Alcorn is a long member of the Udaras board. He says while nothing has been confirmed, he will be very disappointed if the jobs remit is removed...........
