Counting underway in West Tyrone and Foyle constituencies

Ballot boxes are being opened and verified at centres across Northern Ireland, as counting gets underway on votes cast in the Assembly elections.
Results are expected to start coming in after 3 o clock this afternoon, but it will be Saturday evening before all 108 new MLAs are elected.
Turnout figures are being closely watched in the wake of a low-key election campaign, amid fears they may have dropped.
In the Foyle constituency there is expected to be an interseting battle within nationalism, the SDLP currently have three seats – Sinn Féin have two.

In West Tyrone, Sinn Féin will seek to extend their political dominance by attempting to add a fourth MLA to the three Assembly seats they already hold in the constituency.
