Sinn Fein have failed in a bid to have the Donegal fires raised during the adjournment in the Dail.
Deputies Pearse Doherty and Padraig Mac Lochlainn are both calling on the Government to establish an inter departmental crisis response unit to tackle the fires that have spread across Donegal and other counties over the past week.
Deputy Doherty says because the adjournment system is based on what he termed "an antiquated lottery system", they will attempt to move the motion again tonight.
He says the response from govenrment has been poor, and it's been the community response which has been key to addressing the situation.
