Government urged to intervene as more fires affect Donegal

The government is being told it must respond to the situation created by the onging fires in Donegal. After some respite this morning, fires began reigniting in the early afternoon.
The Fire Service says there are now six different fires being tackled across Donegal.
At 5.20 this evening,  Chief Fire Officer Bobby Mc Menamin outlined the latest situation……..


Tributes are being paid to firefighters and local people who have been tackling the blazes.
Meanwhile, Senator Brian O’Domhnaill is calling on Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney and Environment MInister Phil Hogan to visit the county as soon as possible.
He’s been involved in the fire fighting effort over the past number of days, and says the devastation is serious…………..
