A derelict house was burned down last night at around 2am in the village of Newtowncunningham.
The dwelling was unoccupied and no one was hurt.
Fire Brigade services from both Derry and Letterkenny attended the scene and quickly put out the blaze.
Newly co-opted Fianna Fail Councillor, Paul Canning, says it was lucky the burnt down building was empty, but he says many young people are using derelict buildings as drinking dens…….
