Fianna Fail and Sinn Fein formally select council replacements

Fianna Fail has formally selected Paul Canning to replace newly elected Deputy Charlie McConalogue on Donegal County Council.
The Manorcunningham man, who narrowly missed out on election to the council in the last local elections,  was chosen at a party meeting last night.
Mr Canning will be formally co-opted on to Donegal County Council at a special meeting in Lifford next week –  he says he is honoured to have been chosen.

Sinn Fein will replace Deputy Padraig MacLochlainn with Burnfoot man Jack Murray. Mr Murray, a former party press officer and adviser, was the sole candidate at a selection meeting last night.
