“DiverseCity” project to explore cultural history of Derry’s walls

A project to explore what the City Walls mean to peole in Derry has been awarded almost £450,000 in Lottery Funding.

'DiverseCity' will be a three year programme to uncover the "shared heritage" of the walls through a series of community-based consultations, seminars, conferences and workshops, coordinated by the Holywell Trust.

The Heritage Lottery Fund said contributions from all communities would be recorded and used to produce a 'Definitive History of the Walled City'.

Eamonn Deane, the director of the Holywell Trust says the project will help deepen everyone's  understanding of past events, so that they can create an inclusive future..........
