Objection lodged against Fruit of the Loom site redevelopment

An objection has been lodged against plans for the redevelopment of part of former Fruit of the Loom site.
Conditional permission had  been awarded by Donegal County Council for the commercial development of the site  to include a  petrol station, 447 car parking spaces and all associated site and development works.
The redevelopment of part of the Former Fruit of the Loom site, which was broadly welcomed by Councillors a a recent Buncrana Town Council meeting, requires the demolition of part of the existing industrial buildings.
Permission was granted for the redevelopment and reuse of the remainder of the structure to accommodate retail/ commercial uses including  a major anchor unit.
There are also plans for 10 retail / commercial units, a café/restaurant , an internal mall and a 6 pump petrol service station.
The application was lodged by Rishton Ltd, the only active appellant is named as Ronan Gill – the objection was lodged with An Bord Pleanala last month – a decision date has not been provided.
