Islands will vote two days before mainland

It has been confirmed that people living on the islands will go to the polls on the 23rd of Febuary, 2 days before those on the main land.
760 people have the right to vote on Donegal’s 5 islands of Arranmore, Gola, Inishboffin, Inishfree and Tory.
Meanwhile the bookmakers are released their latest odds, reflecting who they feel will be successful in the election in Donegal’s two constituencies.
Paddy Power has updated its latest odds on who will be succesful in Donegal in the General Election.
In Donegal Northeast, Sinn Fein Cllr Padraig MacLoughlainn is 20-1 on to win a seat, the same odds are available on Fine Gael Deputy Joe McHugh with Fianna Fail’s Cllr Charlie Mc Conalogueodds on for a seat to.
Labour’s Jimmy Harte is 9/2 for success, followed at 4.1 by Independent Dara Blaney – Independent Betty Holmes and Fine Gael’s John Ryan are at 5-1 with long odds available for Independents Cllr Ian McGarvey, Dessie Shiels and Ryan Stewart – Green Candidate Humphrey Murphy is available at 50-1.
In Donegal South West, Deputy Pearse Doherty is 50-1 on to retain his seat with Fianna Fail’s Tanaiste Mary Coughlan and Fine Gael’s Deputy Dinny McGinley 10 to 1 on.
Fine Fail Senator Brian O’Domhnaill, Independent Ccllr Thomas Pringle and Labour Cllr Frank McBrearty are available between 5/2 and 6/1 with longer odds on Independents Stephe Mc Cahill, Anne Sweeney and the Greens’ John Duffy.
