Meanwhile the Co-operating for Cancer Care North West group has confirmed it will not be fielding a candidate in the General Election.
The group says it is being directly asked by members of the public and indirectly by members of political parties if we are going to contest the coming election and has moved to put an end to this speculation.
Spokesperson Noell Duddy says the country needs strong leadership and single issue candidates are not the way forwards:
