LYIT president says he makes no apology for purchase of Port Road site

The president of Letterkenny Institute of Technology says he makes no apology for the acquisition of a prime 10 acre site on Port Road opposite the main entrance to the college.

A number of questions have bneen raised about the site because it was part owned by former councillor Terry Mc Eniff, a member of the Fianna Fail National Executive.

However, speaking on today's Shaun Doherty Show, Paul Hannigan says the purchase followed a rigorous procurement and assesment process, and everything about the deal is above board.

He says management at LYIT are now in discussion with planners on how best to develop the site.......
