December 2010 worst month on record at Donegal airport

Donegal Airport has described 2010 as an extremely challenging year with December the worst operational month on record.

A total of 32 flights were cancelled last month while the volcanic ash crisis of April and May saw a further 70 flight cancellations.

There was some good news however as 2 million euro was approved for runway improvements - Airport Operations Manager, Eilis Barrett, says should ease concerns over the government subsidy of the airport
