Letterkenny Town Council is being asked to allow a second planning application to be submitted at a site where a previous application was turned down.
At present. there is a derelict house at the corner of College Farm Road and Convent Road, and a previous application to allow apartments at the site was turned down because of fears about road safety on the junction.
Now, a new application is being prepared, but because it involves altering the junction, the council must give permission for an application to be made. Cllr Dessie Larkin indicated he couldn't support that, saying it would be hypocritical to allow an application he opposes to be made.
Officials stressed this is procedural, and a decision was deferred pending a report next month.
Cllr Larkin says he will still oppose any plan to develop apartments.
