ABP to rule on hotel and residential development plan for Letterkenny

An Bord Pleanala will have to decide if a major retail and residential development will be allowed go ahead in Letterkenny.
Allen, George and John  Robinson applied to Letterkenny Town Council for the major residential and retail development, which would be located on a 16 hectare site in the Gortlee area.
The project includes the construction of a 100 bed hotel, restuarant and pub, as well as 125 Town houses, along with 112 apartments and office units.
The plans also include for the contruction of  a neighbourhood centre incorparating a creche.
Letterkenny town council granted conditional approval, however that decision has been appealed – one local resident is objecting to the scale of the project and the impact it would have on their property. The applicants are also appealing aspects of the conditional permission.
A decision on whether the project goes ahead will be made in April on next year.
