Efforts to remove 33 pilot whales found dead of Rutland Island will be made today

Efforts will be made today to remove 33 pilot whales found dead off on Rutland Island near Burtonport in Co. Donegal.
A team from Galway Mayo Institute of Technology were on site yesterday to try to determine why the whales beached.
Locals say the whales had been feeding in the area since Tuesday.
Dr.Simon Berrow from the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group said an investigation into the gruesome discovery will have to examine if there was naval activity in the area.
