Search for missing fisherman enters 3rd day

The search will resume this morning for Robert McLaughlin Jackie who has been missing since the boat he was on with his uncle ran aground on rocks off Glengad on Monday morning.

The body of his uncle, Edward Doherty from Ross Head, Glengad was recovered shortly after the incident was reported.

Malin Head Coast Guard, which is co-ordinating the search, says that due to poor weather conditions the RNLI lifeboats will not be part of the operation this morning.

The Search and Rescue helicopter, based out of Sligo, is due in the area at 9am and will focus it's search on a area of the sea identified by the coast guard.

The Greencastle Coastgaurd unit will undertake a low water search of the shore line from 9.30am.
