A Fianna Fail Councillor in Letterkenny has said he has no confidence in Environment Minister John Gormley. Cllr Dessie Larkin made his comments as he successfully proposed that Letterkenny Town Council make a strong submission to the consultation on local government document.
The discussion followed last week's AMAI conference in Buncrana, which roundly rejected the government's proposal to scrap town councils as a cost cutting measure.
All members reflected on the level of development in Letterkenny over the past 25 years, arguing that the same growth would not have been achieved were it not for the town council.
A special meeting to discuss the detail of the submission will be held next week.
Cllr Larkin says he believes the biggest problem at the moment is John Gormley...........
