There were 22,832 people on the Live Register in Donegal at the end of July, up1,981 on the same period last year, a rise of 9.5%.
The highest percentage increase was recorded in Ballyshannon with 1,563 on the register, up 15%, while Dungloe had 2442 people signing on, 13% up on the July 2009 figure.
Letterkenny had 6,375 people signing on at the end of July, a year on year increase of 12%, while Buncrana saw a 9% rise with 5,256 people on the register.
There were 1,639 on the register in Dunfanaghy, up 8%, and 2,820 signing on in Ballybofey, a 6% increase.
There were 1,386 on the register in Donegal Town, up 4.5%, while the smallest percentage increase of 3% was recorded in Killybegs, where there were 1,352 people signing on.
