Farren family finally get their voices heard on road safety

Donegal County Council and the gardai have been strongly criticised before the Oireachtas Committee on Transport for their handling of the investigation in to the death of newly-married Sinead McDaid in Donegal 9 years ago.
Mrs Mc Daid died when the car she was travelling in crashed on a temporary road surface in Culdaff.
Her family insists that the crash was as a result of negligence on behalf of Donegal County Council, as her car skidded out of control on loose chippings on the road.
The council is currently in the Supreme Court challenging, the legality of a Health and Safety Authority investigation into the incident.
Addressing the committee, Sinead’s father Sean Farren said that despite representations to numerous groups, no one is taking responsibility  – He says the family wants answers.
