Construction of new power line to begin in autumn

It’s emerged that construction on a major 110 kv power line will begin in Donegal in the autumn, with 63 miles of pylons to be erected from Letterkenny to Gweedore via Binbane and Glenties.
A previous application was turned down, but the revised plan was gioven the go ahead last year by An Bord Pleanala, and today’s Donegal News is reporting that construction work will begin in September or October.
The latest news is set to dominate a meeting tomorrow of the Gweebarra Conservation Group in Leitirmacaward, where one of the main speakers is set to be a representitive of Donegal Alternative to Pylons.
