Teenager in court on Ballyshannon bank robbery charge

A teenager has been charged with attempting to rob a bank in Ballyshannon with a hatchet.
19 year old Joseph Myers was accused at Ballyshannon District Court with attempting to rob the Bank of Ireland in the town on July 22nd last.
He was also accused of intimidation with a hatchet capable of inflicting serious injury at the bank on the same date.
Garda John Clancy told of serving of the book of evidence on Myers, who had addresses in Ballinasloe and at Tuam Rd, Galway.
Judge Kevin Kilrane told Myers he had 14 days to give notice of an alibi in his defence.
Myers was remanded in custody to appeal at Donegal Town Circuit Court on Tuesday.
