Plans for the €17 million Eastern Relief Road in Letterkenny have been saved for the time being at least after Town Councillors adopted revised changes to the Letterkenny and Environs Development Plan.
The changes were due to be adopted last week but were delayed when councillors learned that three homes were, potentially, in the path of the new road.
However last night councillors okayed the changes following a half hour consultation between affected families and road designers.
Charlie Kerr, Senior Executive Engineer in Road Design, says this does not mean the proposed Eastern Relief Road in Sallaghagrane and Oldtown will definelty go ahead, but he did praise the affected families for their compromise............
Emmet Griffin spoke to Highland Radio News on behalf of one of the families, he says they are content with the compromise............
