Anger as government announces welfare cuts

Its emerged that a special social welfare payment to lone parents will be stopped once their child reaches 13.
Following a review the Social Protection Minister Eamon O’Cuiv is cutting the One-Parent Family Payment.
The benefit is currently paid to the lone parent until children are 18, or 22 if in full-time education.
But for new claimants,from April 2011, the payment will be made until the youngest child in the family reaches 13.
