St Johnston schoolchildren evacuated during Templemore alert

A dissident republican group says a device found at a leisure centre in Derry yesterday had been left there five days ago.
A group of school children from Castletown, St Johnstown were among those evacuated from the pool yesterday afternoon when the device was found.
Evelyn Devenney, Principal of the Castletown National School, says the youngsters were left terrified by the ordeal……..

Police said they searched Templemore sports complex last Thursday – when the centre was used for an election count – after a coded warning about a bomb.
But they said the original information was misleading.
They say the device, hidden in the ceiling of toilets, didn’t contain a detonator and could not have exploded.
The device was discovered yesterday after a caller contacted a parochial house in Derry.
In a statement, dissident republican group Oglaigh na h’Eireann said the two devices were left on Thursday and that a warning had been given.
