It has emerged that Letterkenny Town Council is now considering two sites for the proposed community allotments.
One site in Glencar, from the council’s own land bank, is being evaluated while it has been revealed that Bishop Boyce has offered church land in ‘the back road area’ for the allotments.
That offer was made to Councillor Jimmy Kavanagh who received some critisism from Councillors Dessie Larkin and Ciaran Brogan who complained that it wasn’t proper for councillor to first learn of the Bishop’s offer at this week’s council meeting.
Councillor Kavanagh says the important thing is the council now has options.
