Representatives from An Post are being invited to a meeting of Letterkenny Town Council to explain why, as many councillors feel, it provides such a limited service for Letterkenny.
The decision comes off the back of calls from Councillor Jimmy Harte that An Post provide a sub office service for the Gortlee/Ballyraine areas of the town.
Supporting the motion, other councillors expressed concern at the current post office facilities which have been described as inadequate, with people, many elderly, forced to endure long queues for basic services.
However Councillor Harte is not optimistic that An Post will extend its service.
