Oireachtas Committee reverses decision not to meet Donegal families

The Oireachtas Transport Committee has agreed to meet the families of three young women who died in road crashes allegedly linked to road works which were improperly marked.
The committee had initially refused to meet the families, including the parents of Donegal woman Sinead Mc Daid, but has today reversed that decision.
North West MEP Jim Higgins is welcoming the change of heart, but says it’s disappointing that the committee’s sudden u-turn is a result of negative media attention rather than a commitment to road safety.
