Soccer – First wins for Harps and Derry

Goals from Kevin McHugh and Shaun McGowan gave Harps a deserved victory over Salthill Devon in their first home game of the 2010 campaign.   All the talk at Finn Park on Friday night might’ve been about the club’s new revive and thrive campaign, but it was two familiar faces that sent the Ballybofey club’s support off into the chilly night with smiles of contentment.
Derry City got their first three points of the 2010 season with a hard fought win away to Limerick City.  David McDaid struck in the first half for the visitors in what was a physical contest.  Thomas Lyons and Mark Scoltock both saw red but City held on for the victory.
