Mc Hugh fears for future of Greencastle Harbour Project

The future of the multi-million euro Greencastle Harbour Project is in doubt, according to Donegal North East Deputy Joe Mc Hugh.
It’s emerged that only 104,000 euro has been allocated for the ongoing work in 2010, substantially less than the 800,000 euro which local people believ is necessary as a bare minimum to keep the project alive.
Deputy Mc Hugh says this represents a virtual shut down of the project, which will have considerable safety implications, given that the project was approved on foot of audits which showed the harbour to be unsafe.
He says this constitutes negligence on the part of the government.
