The armys has confirmed that soldiers based at Finner are now on stand-by to assist Donegal County Council or the HSE in dealing with the the current severe weather conditions.
Following a directive from the Defence Minister Willie O’Dea yesterday, Finner is one of 17 Barracks across the country which is now able to offer emergency assistance to local authorities and the Health Service Executive if required.
