News from Highland Radio


Greg Hughes, Highland Radio's Head of News, began his career in Journalism in earnest in the mid nineties.

He began working in the newsroom with North West Radio before joining the Highland Radio news team in 2002. From Laghey in south Donegal, Greg has interviewed some of the country's top political representatives throughout his career and never shies away from asking the tough questions.

Lisa Mc Kelvey took up a full time position in the Highland newsroom in October 2007. She qualified from Queens University Belfast and holds a Masters in Journalism. Lisa has her finger on the pulse of local news stories but she also has a keen interest in politics - both national and international.

Donal Kavanagh, a Waterford native, began his radio career on the international pirate radio scene including a stint bobbing on the high seas off Israel where he worked with the 'Voice of Peace'. He has been with Highland Radio almost since its inception and is renowned as King of the Airwaves when it comes to Highland's election time coverage with his deft and assured anchoring.
