FF demand more clarity over potential border checks

It’s been claimed that the Government is still refusing to provide clarity on plans for checks in the event of a no deal Brexit.
Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Brexit Lisa Chambers TD is warning that while tunnel discussions are taking place, there can be no room for tunnel vision.
With less than three weeks away from a potential no deal Brexit Deputy Chambers has criticised the Government over refusing to provide clarity on checks in the event of a no deal Brexit.
The Government has recently called in crisis management specialists to help deal with a potential no-deal crisis but Deputy Chamber believes that this should have been done months ago.
In a statement Deputy Chambers urged the Government to communicate with citizens and business about what the plan is.
The Taoiseach has said that there will be no sudden changes and a grace period if checks have to be implemented but Deputy Chambers has said that no clarity has been provided on what that actually means or how long the grace period will be.
Deputy Chambers concluded that the lack of information is only serving to fuel uncertainty and anxiety particularly in the border region.
