The final of the EA Sports Cup on Saturday night is now a sellout, as last year’s winners Derry City meet Dundalk in the Brandywell.
Derry City’s path to this year’s final included wins over First Division side Longford Town, as well as Premier Division opposition in local rivals Finn Harps, and a victory over Waterford in the semi-final.
Meanwhile the road for current league leaders Dundalk included victories over St Pat’s and UCD, before a 6-1 thrashing of Bohemians in the semi-final, where striker Patrick Hoban grabbed himself 4 goals as they sealed their place in the final.
In their three league match ups so far this season, Dundalk did have a 2-0 victory but with the two other ties ended in 2-2 draws, so Sunday’s contest is set to be hotly contested.
