Government due to finalise contingency plans for no-deal Brexit


The government is due to finalise its contingency plans for a no-deal Brexit today.
Cabinet will be briefed on the measures needed to prepare the country for the possibility of Britain leaving the EU without a deal.
They’ll set out how key sectors will be protected in case of there being no deal in place on March 29th.
Meanwhile, an Oireachtas committee is looking at how co-operation will continue between agencies here and in the North on child protection and healthcare after Brexit.
Chairman of the Children and Youth Affairs Committee – Alan Farrell – says the issue of nursing and social work qualifications is of particular concern:
