The HSE has cancelled all non-urgent surgeries following record trolley numbers yesterday.
714 people were waiting for a hospital bed yesterday morning, higher than the previous record of 677 in January.
The Health Minister has announced 5 million euro in extra spending to speed up the discharge of patients.
