Government urged to address serious issues facing Donegal schools


A Donegal Deputy is calling on the Government to urgently address issues facing 7 schools in the County.
Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher has said Central Government has completley failed to address the needs of the schools in Donegal some of which are overcrowded and require new buildings.
During a Dail debate, Deputy Gallagher told the Education Minister that many projects in Donegal have been dragging on for many years with no porgress being made.
He says pupils and teachers are left in difficult situation:

The schools in question:
Scoil Adhamhnain, Luinnaigh, Gaoth Dobhair which needs additional capacity, and St Eunan’s National School Raphoe which requires additional capacity, Scoil Mhuire Cresslough, which requires additional space . The Abbey Vocational School needs additional capacity and accommodation. The Royal and Prior School Raphoe urgently require funding for improvement works. In the case of Gaelscoil na gCeithre Maistrí Donegal Town and St Mary’s National School Stranorlar both of these schools are overcrowded and require new school building.
