Weather warning issued-some flooding already on some Donegal roads

There are reports of surface water on a number of roads in Donegal this evening, particularly in the vicinity of Creeslough, Carrigart, Cranford and Termon.

Water is also being reported on the road from Kerrykeel to Fanad.
It follows persistent rain this afternoon and evening, which Met Eireann says will ease off tonight.
Meanwhile, Met Éireann forecasters named “Storm Brian” this afternoon.
They say this action was taken due to a potential risk of orange level winds
developing in coastal regions of a number of counties in the west and southwest Friday night and on Saturday.  In general, the winds in most parts of the country will not be as severe as on Monday.
Yellow wind warnings are in effect countrywide, with Orange level warnings for coastal areas of the south and west. Donegal is not included in the Orange Warnings.
